All is well in Houston

Our appointment was at 8:00 AM today, which meant we needed to be on the road by 7:00 AM which meant that we needed to be up by dark o’thirty something. Houston traffic is never predictable.

Everything went well with the radiation and we even snuck in the weekly blood sample.

Lots of fog but it turned into a nice balmy day.

We made it back home around 10:00 AM, had a bit of lunch and a nap since we were up so early.

We were back on the road again around 5 PM for the 6 o’clock Chemotherapy session. We arrived very early and they were running late so we had quite a wait. They finally got The Cowboy settled in and started the anti-nausea IV drip a little after 8. That was 45 minutes and then they started the Chemo IV.

The private room was very comfortable complete with a TV so we were able to watch Big Bang Theory (which we love) for the time that we were there.

Fortunately, I had prepared dinner before we left home this afternoon. So we just finished our chicken wings, cauliflower casserole and dipping veggies and it’s now 11:00 PM.

It’s been a long day so this is a short post just to let everyone know that all went better than we anticipated and The Cowboy is feeling great.

We don’t need to be back at the Center till around 4 PM tomorrow.

Thank You again for your messages, comments and phone calls.

By the way, your prayers are working!

  5. Dear Ron,
Keep your faith flying high and nothing can stand in your way. God will be guiding you; he'll be near you through every shift and twist of the road and put your feet back on solid ground.
