Houston! We have landed (again)!

And Yes! It is hot! Just like everywhere else in the nation.

We are here for The Cowboy’s follow up appointments at MD Anderson where he completed 34 radiation treatments ending on April 26th.

For those of you who are new to this site you can click here to read the post back in February where I first wrote about The Cowboy’s throat cancer diagnosis.

To update everyone else he still hasn’t regained his voice, it remains just a whisper, which means that I continue to win MOST arguments Flirt male.

He remains positive with a great attitude and will be sharing more Cowboy words of wisdom (COWBOYISMS) soon. Even though his throat is still quite sore with medication offering temporary relief. He hasn’t regained his usual appetite so that has resulted in more weight loss. He’s started back on protein drinks to help supplement – I’ll have numbers tomorrow after he gets weighed in.

We left Ontario last Wednesday to travel the 1500 miles down here. We chose not to bring the motorhome on this trip driving our Grand Vitara and staying in motels instead. The trip itself was pretty uneventful with the usual construction but no major traffic tie-ups. We arrived here early afternoon on Saturday and have set ourselves up in a nice efficiency room with a small fridge and microwave. Guess it’s a good thing we’re used to living in a small space eh?

Early start tomorrow with blood work at 6:15 AM and 6 more appointments following right up till 3 in the afternoon – so it’s a short post tonight.

I can’t close off without saying Thank You to all of you wonderful commenters out there. Your kind words and messages mean so much to us.  I apologize to my loyal followers for not posting regularly. I will really make more of an effort to keep you updated. I have a lot of blog reading to catch up on too.

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Thank You all for your wonderful thoughts and prayers.

  1. Sharon it is so good to see you back on here again! I've missed your posts. Ron looks good! We will continue to pray that his voice will get back to normal and also that you will get a great report from all the tests to be done.

  2. Glad you had an uneventful trip. Get some rest before all those appointments. We love to hear how you and Ron are doing but blogging comes way down the list of things you need to worry about! Just keep us updated when you can. Prayers ♥

  3. So glad to hear from you, Sharon, and that the Cowboy is doing so well. He is nothing short of a miracle. Hope his sore throat goes away, soon. Glad you are living life to its fullest. You both look very happy.

Two days of not reading blogs, and it will take me a good part of the day to catch up! Take care--blog when you get a chance but as Donna said, it's not high on the list of priorities. I'm just glad to hear that you are doing well. :)

  4. Prayers for good reports from all the doctor appts today. Maybe they can offer something else for the Cowboy's throat. We do appreciate an update once in awhile but blogging is not your priority. Taking care of yourself and Ron is what's important. Hugs.

  5. Thanks for the post and I agree whole heartedly with this group...never worry about making this a priority. Deal with yourselves first, everyone will understand.

One day at a time and it all works out.
    Much Luv,
